Sarah is an experienced lawyer with particular expertise in general commercial law, private mergers and acquisitions, private equity transactions, corporate governance and structuring, information technology, intellectual property and not for profit law. She has advised large privately held companies, listed companies, private equity investors including high net wealth individuals, peak group organisations and not for profit organisations in relation to all aspects of corporate and commercial law.
Sarah has practised for almost 20 years, initially in New Zealand, and for the last 14 years, in Sydney, Australia. She has a wealth of transactional experience, providing bespoke legal solutions in respect of a wide variety of complex corporate governance and business matters.
Sarah is a specialist in legal issues arising in a wide variety of industries, including heavy industry, biotech, renewable energy, emerging technologies, manufacturing, FMCG and not for profit sectors.
Sarah is the head of the Piper Alderman’s Not for Profit Sector Practice Group which brings together partners from Corporate, Commercial, Dispute Resolution, Tax and Employment who advise clients in the sector. Sarah also provides a broad range of advice to not for profit organisations including in relation to governance and collaboration arrangements, contracting with federal and state government organisations and other third parties including for profit corporations, restructuring and mergers of not for profits and intellectual property advice.
Sarah is also recommended lawyer in The Legal 500 Asia-Pacific 2019 edition for Intellectual Property.
